Ma’ Rosa takes place in the slums of Manila. A married couple (played by Jaclyn Jose and Julio Diaz) run a convenience store that sells illegal substances, particularly shabu (crystal meth). When the couple gets arrested in a buy-bust operation, their three children (Andi Eigenmann, Felix Roco, and Jomari Angeles) do everything they can to save them from corrupt cops.

It also stars Baron Geisler, Mon Confiado, Mercedes Cabral, Neil Ryan Sese, Maria Isabel Lopez, Allan Paule, Ruby Ruiz, and Mark Anthony Fernandez.

Please tell us something about your collaboration with the European Union.

It won’t be difficult for us to shoot there, kasi may supporta naman tayo sa European Union.”

Direk Brillante: “Well, siyempre masaya.

Based on a true-to-life story po ba ang istorya ng Ma’Rosa?

How would you describe ang portrayal nilang dalawa bilang mag-ina sa pelikulang ito?

Direk Brillante: “Napakagaling nila! Maganda yung collaboration nilang dalawa as actors. Hindi mo maiisip na mag-ina sila in real life.”

Kaya lang, since my films kasi have distributors abroad, pag na translate mo yung Palit-Ulo, it means ‘Trade-Off,’ masyado nang give-away yung kwento.

I think, this is a wake-up call for our countrymen, for the people also na nasa gobyerno.
